Roy Fossum has extensive experience in the retail industry. As an
executive, he has led Marketing, Sales, Merchandising, Private Label and
Operations. He has held senior level positions on a local, regional and national level for retail and wholesale companies.
Roy has also spent time in China as CMO for the Homeworld, a Chinese owned hypermarket
chain. He is currently leading GRC's efforts in consulting, training, private
label, and importing of popular US consumer products. He has personally
provided executive-level coaching, category management training and
implementation, as well as various skill-focused seminars to both retailers and
suppliers in China.
John Smrekar has many years of experience in the retail industry. His
career has included working for retailers and third-party business support
companies, as well as several years consulting for retailers in the US, Canada,
Asia, and Mexico. John has proven himself as a "hands-on" leader. His
particular strengths are in strategic planning, organizational development,
business processes, as well as category management.
Phil Murphy has a proven track record as a hands-on Marketing,
Merchandising, Private Label and Supply Chain Executive. He has experience
in retail, food service, and consulting. Recently, he has expanded his
background to include experience in China as the CMO for Lotus. He made
significant improvements while at Lotus, leading a turnaround effort with
numerous business improvements accomplished. Phil brings with him a
valuable, no-nonsense approach to doing business which can be very helpful
for those in China who are looking for improvements to their own business
results.
Bill Loneman, like the rest of our team, has many years' experience in the
retail industry. He has led teams for various retailers, wholesale companies,
and even with Teradata, a data management company. Bill is particularly
strong in Center Store and Private Label. He is a strong communicator with
excellent teaching and coaching skills.
Sam Lu has had solid experience in China. He has worked for Carrefour,
Lotus, the Homeworld and Trust Mart (part of Wal-Mart). Like many
Chinese merchandisers, he has continually improved his retail skills. He has
proven to be very intuitive, as he has helped to combine those "Western Best
Practices", with the practical local needs, as demanded in the Chinese culture.
He has strong leadership skills. Sam is particularly strong in the areas of
Category Management, Private Label, and Grocery.
Maggie Hsiao has demonstrated her skills in the Advertising Industry.
She has held positions with Ad Agencies in both Taiwan and China. Some past
clients include big names like CitiBank, Colgate-Palmolive, Campbell Soup,
Wrangler Jeans, IKEA, and others. Recently, Maggie was VP of Marketing
and Advertising for the Homeworld. In that position, she developed a new
Brand Image for the company. It included the Strategy, Brand Statement, as
well as the advertising, store image, events and activities. She is a
strong communicator with great creative skills.
John Standring is an IT expert with many years' experience throughout
the US, Asia, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. What makes him stand out
is his clear understanding of the retail business processes that are supported
by IT. In particular, he has solid experience working with Merchandising,
Operations, and Supply to fully develop and implement a common
sense approach to supporting the business needs through effective information
technology.
